The role of the ESG policy, which is taken into account in the institution's activity, and the role of the "Green team" created in the Foundation were discussed in EDF's membership in the international network.

The membership of the Entrepreneurship Development Fund to the United Nations Global Compact has been approved. In this regard, a meeting with the representative of the Global Agreement was held at the Fund.

At the meeting, the manager of the network for Azerbaijan, Samir Mammadov, evaluated the advanced activities of EDF in the environmental, social and management directions and emphasized the importance of the steps taken in this direction. He also talked about the role of the ESG policy and the "Green team" created in the Foundation, which are taken into account in the activity of the institution, in the EDF's membership in the international network.

Osman Khaliyev, Chairman of the Board of EDF, expressed his satisfaction with the assessment of the Fund's activities in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He stated that the declaration of 2024 as the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World" and the holding of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Azerbaijan will re-consider the environmental, social and management aspects in the construction of strategies and activities. draws attention.

The meeting continued with the discussion of cooperation opportunities.

Note that the UN Global Compact brings together more than 20,000 business and non-business partners in more than 160 countries. The main goal of the organization's members is to adapt their strategies and activities to internationally accepted principles related to human rights, labor rights, environmental protection, as well as the "2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development".
